Highlights of the Assistant Experience

A unique pre-convention opportunity for dancers ages 12 & under to perform, audition, and connect in a focused, inspiring environment.

All Mini/Junior Assistant Experience participants must also be registered for the Summer Convention on June 14th, as workshop performance and class participation are part of the overall Assistant selection process.

Schedule

Focused Learning & Feedback

Each dancer will present their solo before a professional judging panel and receive personalized written feedback.
The audition class with Excel Director Gretta Briceno allows dancers to showcase their adaptability, performance quality, and passion in a classroom setting.

Solo scores, audition scores, and workshop participation scores from June 14th will all be factored into the 2026–2027 Excel Assistant Team selection process.

Bonus Opportunity: Improv Challenge

All Assistant Experience dancers receive a free entry into the Improv Challenge held during the Summer Convention Closing Show on June 14th.
While this bonus event includes fun prizes, Improv Challenge results are not part of the Assistant selection process.

Refund Policy

All attendee cancellations are non-refundable. If a dancer is unable to attend, a partial credit will be issued toward a future Excel Dance Experience event.
